5 Reasons to Fall in Love With Caistor
Before we started building The Cottage and The Lodge, we were on a mission to find the perfect spot of land to build our executive homes. Finding the right area for development is extremely important to us as a house builder and we know that it’s just as important to a homeowner.
Take a look at the interview with Danny our Director, which will give you a little more insight into how he feels about the town of Caistor himself.
When we found our site on North Kelsey Road, Caistor we were so excited, but we had no idea how just how much we would love the town. Keep reading to see why you should love it too!
1. Nutrients for the Soul
After two years of uncertainty, our social well-being has never been so important, which is why coffee shops are more vital than ever. The Pig & Poke in the market square of Caistor sells the most amazing selection of cakes and bakes alongside unique household décor. Inside the shop you’ll find a very relaxed and friendly vibe. On our most recent visit the founder, Helen was a delight and a fountain of knowledge about what’s going on in Caistor Town. If you decide to pop over to visit, we highly recommend the Deluxe Hot Chocolate – it tastes delicious.
Whichever drink you decide upon, the hardest decision you will have to make is which item of homeware is going home with you. From the quirky sheep stools to the cute trinkets all around you will be spoilt for choice. We couldn’t resist buying a gold-plated tray for our new Kemp & Townsend office.
If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, Savages of Caistor Fish & Chips next to the Co-op is always busy. Every time we pass there are queues of customers outside, and it’s keeping our boys on site very happy!
2. Cheeky tipples & evening cocktails
The Side-by-Side Cocktail bar is located in the centre of Caistor near the old-fashioned sweet shop. The motto on their website is Drink – Dine – Enjoy and who could ask for anything more. Why not hop on their website and plan an evening with a few tipples.
Of course, a town would not really be complete without a friendly pub The White Hart of Caistor does not disappoint. We may not have eaten there yet but it’s next on our list for a good lunch as “it has been said that when you arrive at the White Hart, you never want to leave”. And if the location is anything to go by we have a feeling we will be impressed!
3. All the necessities & unique finds
While the large Co-op ensures you have all the necessities, it is places like Drakes Drum that give Caistor its true character.
When you want a special gift, you will find a true treasure in Drakes Drum. Right from the unique front door to the hideaway room at the back, you’ll be transported into a world of art, antiques & collectables. And if you’re not tempted by the antiques, the diffusers & candles will surely entice you to make a purchase!
4. Ramblers Paradise
On the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Caistor is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside. You can enjoy a short stroll or a long walk in the great outdoors with family, friends and your 4-legged pals.
An amazing website we came across you-well.co.uk/visiting-caistor is full of useful information about Caistor. If you do not want to explore alone, you can book a guided tour. We love this idea especially for those visiting for the first time.
5. Location, Location, Location
Caistor is a prime spot for commuting with the towns of Cleethorpes, Brigg, Market Rasen and Grimsby nearby. And it’s only 20 mins drive back to the Humber Bridge! The surroundings of the country roads are beautiful on a grey day, imagine what they will be like in summer.
If you fancy a long weekend away somewhere hot, the small airport Humberside Airport is only 10 mins drive from Caistor.
After reading these 5 reasons to fall in love with Caistor were sure you’ll agree cute little historic town should not be one to miss.
Our promise to ourselves when creating our luxury homes will always have a focus on the area surrounding them. Caistor is the perfect beginning, and we can’t wait to share with you where we will be next.
